(A) Do you have inquiries regarding the terms of use for Unimarkt?
We invite you to review our established rules.
Are you concerned about data protection?
Rest assured that information from registered users will not be shared with third parties.
We utilize Matomo for statistical analyses, and further details can be found in our privacy policy.
Is your advertisement not published?
Typically, ads are published within one business day.
Please note that advertisements are not processed on weekends or public holidays.
For guidelines on acceptable content, please refer to our rules of engagement.
(B) Would you like to publish an advertisement?
Please note that the Unimarkt team at the University of Basel does not publish advertisements on behalf of third parties.
To post an ad, you must create a user account under “My Unimarkt”.
Is your chosen profile name not accepted?
Ensure that your profile name is unique and adheres to the following guidelines:
Allowed: lowercase letters (a-z), numbers (0-9), underscores (_), and hyphens (-).
Not allowed: capital letters, umlauts, special characters, or spaces.
Is your desired password not accepted?
Your password must meet the following requirements:
At least 12 characters in length.
Include at least one uppercase letter, one lowercase letter, one number, and one special character.
Umlauts and spaces are not permitted.
Have you not received a confirmation email?
Check your spam folder and adjust your spam filter settings if necessary.
Would you like to delete an existing account?
Log in to “My Unimarkt” and navigate to the “Settings/My Profile” section to select the option for account deletion.
Once deleted, your data will be retained for 30 days. After this period, all data will be permanently erased and cannot be recovered.
(C) Entering advertisements
Would you like to create a new advertisement?
To get started, log in to “My Unimarkt”. Please note that only one account is allowed per person.
You can easily create new advertisements directly through your account.
Are you unable to create a new advertisement?
Each account is permitted to have a maximum of 10 advertisements, including those that are deactivated.
To add new listings, please delete any existing advertisements that you no longer need.
(D) Editing advertisements
Would you like to edit an existing advertisement?
Simply log in to “My Unimarkt” to modify your advertisements and profile information directly within your account.
Would you like to change the publication period of an advertisement?
The maximum publication duration is 14 days. Once this period expires, the advertisement will be automatically deactivated but will
remain available for editing and reactivation. You can make any necessary changes in your account.
Would you like to delete an advertisement?
Log in to “My Unimarkt” to delete advertisements directly from your account. After deletion, your data will be retained for an additional 30 days. Following this period, all data will be permanently erased and cannot be recovered.
Would you like to send an advertisement via email?
On the details page of the advertisement, you will find the option “Copy link to advertisement to clipboard” located at the bottom right.
You can paste this link into your emails using the keyboard shortcut (Ctrl+V).
(E) Deactivating and activating an advertisement
Would you like to deactivate an advertisement?
Log in to “My Unimarkt” and click on the pause symbol in your advertisement overview. The advertisement will immediately become invisible on the website.
Would you like to reactivate a deactivated advertisement?
Log in and click on the play symbol in your advertisement overview. The advertisement will become visible again instantly, provided no changes have been made. If the advertisement has been edited, it will need to be reviewed by the editorial team before publication.
Please note: Deactivating or reactivating an advertisement does not alter the preset publication duration. The publication period is simply paused during deactivation.
Expired advertisements can be reactivated without requiring verification, as long as no edits have been made.
(F) Password forgotten
Have you forgotten your password?
Please utilize the “Forgotten password” form and enter your registered email address. You will receive an email containing a link that
allows you to create a new password.

This service is exclusively available to registered users. To get started, please create an account under “My Unimarkt”.
Once you are logged in, you can subscribe to specific categories. Simply click on “Create search subscription” located
at the top right of the search results. You will receive daily emails featuring the advertisements you subscribed to.
Would you like to delete an existing search subscription?
You can view and remove your subscriptions in your account under “Search subscriptions”.
(H) Deletion of Inactive Advertisements
Inactive advertisements, along with their associated images, will be removed by the Unimarkt editorial team after a period of six months
(I) Technical Issues, Suggestions, Compliments, or Feedback

(J) Protection Against Advertising Fraud

(K) Reporting a Suspicious Advertisement
Have you come across a suspicious advertisement that you would like to report? Simply click on “Report advertisement”
located at the bottom of the ad and complete the form provided.
